The United Auto Workers launched strike on 14th September, 2023 after their labor contracts expired at 11:59 p.m.

1. The union is proposing a 90-day progression period to the top of the wage scale while the companies so far have agreed to cut the progression period in half, from eight years to four.

2. The UAW initially proposed 40% not compounded wage increases over the length of the contract which subsequently decreased to 36% not compounded. Ford and General Motors are now offering 20% raises, not compounded. GM's offer includes a 10% increase in the first year.
